General

It's funny how perceptions work, because I didn't think Tenshi was complaining here. I felt she were giving a commentary on the obvious dying art of netiquette. (Or should I say dead by now?) But others do see it as a complaint.

Ah well, there is nothing to be done about perception. Onward.

Sorry, spammers forced my hand. Comments reviewed before being published.

[link] Same here, although I see the point other commentators are making. I mean, yeah, if you have no idea what's going on in the person's life, /don't butt in/. Common sense, right? I mean, it's obvious to people like you and me. But the important thing is that people do anyway--you're going to have a-holes online and off. So whatever you post, you're inviting jerks to come and comment on. I think that might be the sad truth of the matter.

[link] Netiqutte is dead. R.I.P.

And it's still Gen, but I can't make a comment in my own journal using the same name. Long story.

[link] I think that perople have begun to see any words written in a journal that don't support/compliment the subject as a rant.

I didn't think Tenshi was complaining either.

What? We have to sugarcoat everything we post, or take off the comments for every other entry just /incase/ there's a dunderhead reading? *snort*

I follow the same rule Kit mentioned. If I don't know the person IRL, or are really /really/ Close with them OL, I probably won't comment on a personal situation. They don't ask me to butt in, I no butt in. A comment box /is not an invitation/. It's a spiffy privaledge that /nobody/ would want to put there if it was going to cause them greif.

Oh. And I ran into the same problem with Nucleus. Either have to log in to post, or use a different name. Never though to use the full name, though. *kick*
