Is it over?
Yes, I was hiding during Xmas. And with good reason.
New Year's Eve, that's the one I want. Oh sure, I'm usually at home lamenting on the lack of a real social life, but this year I've got wine, cheap vodka, and dammit, I think I deserve to get smashed. (I haven't gotten rip roaring drunk in over five years, I think I'm due.)
::sigh:: Everything is late, and getting sent out Monday. To note, it was not my fault. Once again the M-unit screwed me over, this time by letting the younger sister give her a sob story and talk her into borrowing money off MY debit card. Don't you love how generous people are with your funds? Obviously, I told her, this makes it impossible to trust you, and please to give me my paypal card back. Though the damage is already done.
It's not about the money, but I'm tired of trusting the one person I thought I could, and getting a big fat one up the ass each and every single time, because she has no spine to tell other people no. But it's perfectly okay for me to get disappointed.
In other news, I've added a slew more of backgrounds over at Bryony. I've also added the sidebar section I've been meaning to. Currently, I'm creating a new blog on Nucleus so I can transfer the fiction, because oddly enough, that part was still using Greymatter. (Ick, not only is it perl, but it uses a flatfile DB, generates hardcoded pages, and we won't get into the whole "rebuilding" you have to do every time you want to change the template.) I'll hopefully finish that tomorrow. I have a new LJ layout waiting to be installed, but when I looked at S2 programming--well, let's just say Rome wasn't built in a day and leave it there. If would be nice if I could find a basic tutorial that takes you step by step through making a simple layout. Once I get the foundation, I know where to go on my own.
Another thing planned is a tarot script created solely by me, (versus my usual trick of just getting some freeware php). It's a card forecast of the day, but I could probably make it pull a spread. I'm just not sure if I want to.
Now that Xmas is over, (New Year's doesn't count, all the majority of you will do is get smashed anyway), I'd like to present an idea thought up between Mirchan and myself.
You probably have an old anime/game/book/etc you bought lying around somewhere. Or maybe some ancient files downloaded onto your comp. When it was new, you loved it. It entertained you, maybe even got you into a fandom. You were happy. But time goes by, tastes change, and it's been years since you thought about it.
For the third week of January, Miracle and I are going nostalgic, and pulling out that something we haven't seen in so long and looking at it, from start to finish, all over again. For me, that would be Slayers NEXT, on vhs tapes no less. That's the plan for those who want to join us. Just dust it off and give it another go. (After all, you bought/downloaded it for a reason, right?) Only rule is it should be something you haven't seen/played/read in at least a year's time. So no current obsessions, please.
So checking my calendar,I see that's from Jan 15th-22nd. If you're interested, get a little nostalgic with us. Revisit days gone by, and if you can, perhaps write a bit of fanfiction, draw if you'd like, or just post a review for it. And finally, if you like this idea, spread it around.
Me, I'm going back to sleep, because it is way too early, even for the day after Xmas.
Randomly, making snarky comments while watching The Nutcracker ballet (1977) is loads of fun.

I'll do nostalgia week with you! I've been meaning to re-watch Outlaw Star for ages now, since it's been moldering about on my shelf and looking quite forlorn.
Let me know something on your wishlist that you didn't get so that I can get you something. Besides the Pretear manga since I can't find it anywhere. *grumble*

Great idea. I've actually been meaning to watch my Slayers tapes for awhile as well.
Present will be late, lack of funding is to blame. ;_; forgive me.
