I for one would have told my mother that, no, I'm not singing Saturday because I have a job. If the situation were reversed, how would she feel if someone did that to her.
Yes, you're more than just a voice, and you're more than just "the Pastor's Daughter." You're a person, and you should be treated as such.
You're going to have to put your foot down, and this may result in some hurt or bristled feelings, but they'll just have to accept it.
And don't worry, that rant hardly offended me. It was probably long overdue for you anyway, and if you can't rant in your own journal, where can you rant off at?

I'm glad someone understands. That little thing with my mom, though, was just the icing on the cake.
I'd had a bad day mainly because some jackass who thinks he's God's gift to women called me and asked to meet somewhere. To be perfectly honest, I told him to go fuck himself with a flagpole and hung up. The pedophile (he's twelve years older than me, oi) had tried to start something over a year ago, and I'd slapped him then. He just decided to try again, I guess.
If he calls me again, though, I'm filing for harassment and a restraining order. Guys like him just piss me off.
