Kitsuki's tail twitches as she contemplates the sign--a cheerfully grinning goldfish, with carved scales. "That ain't natural."
"None of these inns are ever named after anything natural," Alexandra says cheerfully as she pushes open the door. "Let's get ourselves some rooms now, shall we?"
"They better be for free," Kitsuki grumbled. "We're not 'xactly here of our own free will, if you'll get my drift."

"I'm sorry," Kaligo says, but it's hard to sound sincere, as he feels far too giddy. Winter always has that effect on him. "I didn't mean to. I won't do that again." Winter is light in his arms; he feels a sudden compulsion to kiss him.
Stanos loosens his grip on his sword. The demon doesn't look about to attack. He exhales slowly, taking three beats to do so, before wading through the crowd to join them. The demon is uncharacteristically. . . affectionate.
"The others are waiting for us," he says, anxious to get them back.
