(4:45 pm PT) - Tis over?
[link] - (blank)

All the pranking done? Hope so, not in the mood. Funny jokes, yes. Pointless link clicking, no. (And to those linkers and prankers, the statusbar shows the URL and is a dead giveaway 93% of the time.) Not so much the flist, but the others out and about the net know who they are.

Breathing pretty good now. I'd say I'm over it as I don't need the nasal spray anymore. And got my assignments in. This instructor is proving to be a hardass. If you don't discuss ever single little topic she thinks you should (for this feat you'd need to be a mind-reader since she doesn't state what should be covered), she'll deduct points. Ye-ah, anyway. More I take networking classes the more I realise how much I hate networking.

Enough bitching on that. Took a setback in March on a whole lot of levels, so I'll be playing catchup in April. Also have that concert on the 9th, which I almost made a serious goof as I thought it was the 10th. Given the price of the ticket, I would have been very upset.

Still crafting. Need more wire.

Nothing much else going on that needs posting, least I think. Got the new Harvest Moon Cute game so playing a bit of that right now.

Gnome, need to grab you and play catch-up. And is anyone's been asking, Seph-mun's 'net went out and she's fighting to get it back.

(1:42 pm PT) - online sabbatical - day 1
[link] - (blank)

So I forgot to mention, I'm taking a bit of an online break. You might spot a post or comment here and there, but not to the same degree. Still, the things I'm doing for the interim I felt like logging for prosperity's sake. I'm not much of a house chore person, so I'm trying my hand at that.

So as of today, I tried my hand at salmon cakes. First batch was okay, just bland. Second batch, after seasoning the oil, was much better. However, the recipe can be easily modifed, as it used canned salmon, so I'm trying it with canned chicken tomorrow.

Managed to crochet a succesful granny square. I'm going to see how large i can make it, as theyarn I have left isn't enough to work on any single project. Will hopefully get some more tomorrow.

Later, going to make wineglass candles. Wish me luck, I'll post about it tomorrow.

If there's a dire emergency, use the message form here at Locuran. I'll get it, no worries, unless I'm asleep.

(8:53 am PT) - Social
[link] - (blank)

I find I'm coming to rely on Kit for my political/social commentaries on all that is fucked up wrong with this country and the world at large. She tends to echo my sentiments exactly, though obviously with a much kinder voice than I'll ever bother to use. As it stands, I'm just waiting for her to archive to link to two very critical posts on her pitas. Of course, if you don't want to wait, feel free to visit now. ::sends curious minds along::

Mirchan, Domino, sorry I haven't gotten a good chance to chat lately. This year the NaNo fic is close to heart, so I'm really trying to pour myself into it. I'm hoping to get a break to talk to either/both of you before, but if not, then at the rate I'm going, I'll be free around the 20th.

I might consider using an embedded LJ here and Locuran, so no one would miss out on either side. It depends on whether I can control the individual item pages or no, without having to learn the S2 system.

Anyone remember the days where designing a webpage did not require you to be a programmer?

Anyway, to remind, those interested in my NaNoWriMo fic and have LJ, friend user ln_fic . Those interested, don't have LJ, but wouldn't mind having it soely for intereaction, let me know, I have codes. Finally, those who want to read and don't want LJ, I can send you a pdf when it's through, just let me know. (Although I'm considering posting in GJ too, not sure.)

Is all for now. It's still morning, and no way I'm up for creative endeavors just yet.

(12:10 pm PT) - Tsk
[link] - (blank)

I wasn't in a mood to post, but sometimes, you just have to.

First, a warning. Be careful about telling someone anything that may very well upset them. If it's not important and doesn't need to be said, my advice, don't. Especially when it comes to people's attitudes on the net, which is almost always unimportant.

When I say unimportant, I'm not talking about net friends, but people who have nothing better to do than bitch or cop attitudes for imagined wrong doings that in no way will have any real significant impact on one's RL.

Second, (and the cause of the previous warning), it seems someone is still upset because I removed them from an ML I run. Normally, this wouldn't bother me. But, 1: it was brought to my attention, when I really didn't need to know. 2: Said individual is having a grand time twisting it to sound like s/he's an innocent and I only did it because s/he spoke his/her mind. Um, no. There are rules, and when they're broken, it's bye-bye. Also, if I feel one person is going to disrupt a normally calm setting, yes, that's another reason. I don't just get rid of people because they disagree with the rest of the ML unless the person takes these disagreements and turns them into near flames or tries to incite a war.

What's most amusing about this, however, is the incident occurred sometime in the first half of this year. The ML is running smoothly, and nobody there is thinking about it. Honestly, I had put it out of my mind. (Why dwell on unpleasant scenes?) This person is still talking about it, though. And I thought I had a hard time letting things go.

Now if you'll note carefully, I haven't mentioned name one. Not the person, nor the ML. So if anyone has something to say about it, you'll have to make sure I'm speaking about the same thing, which you can't. Oh sure, the evil part of me would love to just spill the beans, but really, what's the point? This is just me speaking on my journal, and considering I run a few MLs, I could be talking about any one of them, and of anybody.

Well, if s/he gets the sympathies of a whole ML, so be it. I have too many projects (that I'm falling behind on) to continue to worry about it any longer.

(4:33 pm PT) - Need help/info
[link] - (blank)

Okay, I admit to having never played Xenogears. Nor have I played the more recently released Xenosaga. (I've never played Chrono Cross, either. I don't have time for all these games! It's too many!) So what I want to know is, is Xenogears the name of the total series (i.e. Final Fantasy, .hack), or what? Is Xenosaga a sequal or something completely different?

And should I really bother playing either one?

On a side note, David got me the first volume of Soul Hunter as a belated bday gift. I'm hoping for humour, I really am.

(4:22 pm PT) - Because I realised I needed a break...
[link] - (blank)

We're sorry, the blogger you're trying to reach is busy. She's taking a small internet vacation as "Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow" consumes her free time on this hiatus. You can use one of the exiting links, and click back later. Or, you can leave a message in the usual manner. Please wait for the tone before recording.

(11:46 pm PT) - Something and then some
[link] - (blank)

In being insignificant and accepting
in following the herd
one is free from the pressure
of maintaining and being
unique
in surrendering will
one does not have to worry nor
continue to spend energy on
thought
there is no effort needed if
one does not care to
strive to be an
individual

(1:08 pm PT) - slight tweak
[link] - (blank)

So I tweaked the journal, which is all I ever do far as changing it. I brought back the mood categories, though left out the images. I got rid of the link to my LJ, since I don't use it, and replaced it with a link to a list of the categories/moods I've used so far. Each link there will go to the recent posts that fall under that mood. It was rather interesting to see if the posts actually tied together with the moods.

Anyway, I ramble. I go to try and learn more PHP.

(10:17 am PT) - Happiness bill
[link] - (blank)

They say you can't put a price on true happiness. This may be, but for me, a really effin' good runner up to true happiness would cost $3,274 + tax.

If I were born in some rural type place/tribe, I'm guessing that would be a cow or some beast of burden. Maybe a couple of wives.

There's my happiness bill.

(11:24 am PT) - Quickie...
[link] - (blank)

Before I forget, Miyamoto, one of the producers of the Legend of Zelda series, is on serious crack.

This message brought to you by gamer who finished "The Wind Waker."

(10:24 am PT) - Random
[link] - (blank)

Kit - Did I miss you? I think I did. What about Sunday? Call, chick. (You do remember my actual name, right? They might say no one lives here if you ask for "Gen".)

So I'm cleaning out the current Nucleus powering Locuran, getting ready for an upgrade, when realize I have some drafts that I've yet to post. I probably put them up and just forgot, intending to mention them later. Well, it's later, so might as well cover the whole lot in one swoop.

draft 1

I don't really use LJ save for posting and keeping track of people who do. (The associates' page is pretty handy, though I know I can duplicate it here if I weren't so lazy bogged down with projects.) Anyway, I have some interests listed there as well as on the about page here, I believe. But I might make a second interests-only page depending on the response to the following. Basically, hit this post, since I think it's a pretty good idea to do. http://www.livejournal.com/talkread.bml?journal=beccaming&itemid=27338

I don't know about the telling me why I love you part. I'll settle for why you think I'm curious about you, which can be a real eye-opener in and of itself.

draft 2

I went to a xanga place, (never heard of xanga previously). On the strange comment box was a small bit of a notice that I personally think should be included in all such services, and should be in all self-publishing fanfiction archives.

"Be nice! Members have the right to delete flames."

Truer words...

draft 3

I found this articale after a disastrous prank pulled by various groups at LJ, including support. I wasn't in on the prank, and I'm neutral to the whole thing, but on a whole, I don't like pranks that incite negative emotions. But that's off the subject. This article bears reading and much pondering, which I will do at my earliest convenience.

"In the Country of the Cruel"

end

And it does feel good to be able to post again. Even if nobody reads it, one needs a place where they can just get their thoughts out, be it a blournal or the old-fashion (but highly reliable) method of a journal and pen.

Next post: Why do some people have the overwhelming need to hear their own voice... in public?

(6:50 pm PT) - And oops to me...
[link] - (blank)

Hey, Kit, ask him can I quote him on that, and also, what happens if the deceased don't have life insurance?

And DAMNITALL... I didn't mark your bday in MSN, which is the only way I know. ::thinks:: What are you doing this weekend?

(12:31 am PT) - It's late and I'm tired...
[link] - (blank)

Yanked off of Kit's blournal...

I Am A: Chaotic Good Half-Elf Bard Thief

Alignment:
Chaotic Good characters are independent types with a strong belief in the value of goodness. They have little use for governments and other forces of order, and will generally do their own things, without heed to such groups.

Race:
Half-Elves are a cross between a human and an elf. They are smaller, like their elven ancestors, but have a much shorter lifespan. They are sometimes looked down upon as half-breeds, but this is rare. They have both the curious drive of humans and the patience of elves.

Primary Class:
Bards are the entertainers. They sing, dance, and play instruments to make other people happy, and, frequently, make money. They also tend to dabble in magic a bit.

Secondary Class:
Thieves are the most roguish of the classes. They are sneaky and nimble-fingered, and have skills with traps and locks. While not all use these skills for burglary, that is a common occupation of this class.

Deity:
Hanali Cenanil is the Chaotic Good elven goddess of love, beauty, and art. She is also known as the Heart of Gold and Lady Goldheart. Her followers delight in creation and youth, and work to spread happiness, love, and beauty. Their preferred weapon is the dagger.

... ::shrugs:: Okay.

(8:00 pm PT) - Oh yeah, Sunday...
[link] - (blank)

Show you how bad I am, I'm still thinking it's Saturday.

Short and sweet conversation with mother unit:
Me: If they're not gone, and I see them come Wednesday morning, I'm going off.
Mother-Unit: ...duly noted. Use the .22 if that's the case. It makes smaller holes, so there's less mess.

I wanted to use the big fat knife I recently sharpened, but she said she doesn't want to waste a perfect good cooking utensil.

Social blogging...
Kit - Like I said, I haven't seen either. They're both fantasy and deal with magic. ::shrugs:: It's still more plausible than a lot of other Xovers I've seen, but of course, I bow to more knowledgeable move-goers. Oh yeah, and I made a mistake, I thought the 1st was Thursday. So Tuesday's just fine. Around noon. Gotcha. Now if I can just get to Kinko's tomorrow, I'll have gift ready. ::grumbles about shitty Kinko services:: Oh yeah, I'll get to you about the RSS thing when I can.

Domino - I can see FFVII and FFVIII, especially after Kingdom Hearts, though even that has some big, gaping plotholes. But all the pretty faces make you forget about it. I can also see Street Fighter/X-Men (though I refuse to acknowledge that movie. Not canon in any way, shape, or form. Not too keen on Evolution cartoon, either). I still must show you the glory of VF4. And I need to get my hands on Tekken 4. Hwoaraaaaaang...

Mina - Fusions are delicate too. In the hands of a less than steller writer, they can get either truly confusing or unintentionally silly. But anything in the hands of a good writer can be done and actually turn out to be quite enjoyable. And yes, I'm still LMAO just thinking about my sister.

Mchan - You... and Sanzo? Something just don't click there. Though the thought of anyone sleeping with Chin... ::shudders:: And yes, I took it. It's inside.

And now, a small quiz image rant. Quizzes are fun, obviously, when not done in excess. However, people who supply the images should really think before they save. First off, it will make the image much smaller if the text is just that, text. Not text on the image, but a short blurb underneath that will barely equal 1kb on it's own. This has an added benefit of allowing the image compression itself (if it's a jpeg) to be higher, thereby shrinking the image without reducing the quality of the text. At higher compression rates, texts looks jacked in jpegs, and therefore should really be done in gifs. But gifs are usually larger file sizes as well. Finally, don't be afraid to compress. The quality loss is minimum at the right level. So in a nutshell, text separate from image, avoid gifs, and compress. Everyone's bandwidth will be happier, and it will make those pages load faster.

That being said, a quiz appropriated from Mchan...

(Which Saiyuki character would sleep with you?)

(6:08 pm PT) - Oh yeah...
[link] - (blank)

ShiShichan is being put to use here. But all the posts prior to the ones on this page just have a "General" mood. If I'm feeling ambitious, one day I'll go through them and change that. Until then... ::shrugs::

Now whether or not I keep this remains to be seen. I might have to redo Nucleus to just add another entry field and use that, since this system is using the category option, which doesn't let me not have a mood. We'll see.

(4:51 pm PT) - ::watches the words drifting away::
[link] - (blank)

I'd never appreciated the kind of creativity living with only a few people could allow me to have.

Now that the household size has more than doubled, I'm watching it all drift away.

Oh yeah, and short term memory is being shot to hell.

So I'm in this odd state that's slowly draining my creative energies. Hell, it's draining all my energies. I didn't know just how bad an introvert I was until this... situation occurred.

Kit: if you wanted any of the FFX songs, you should have told me. And as to why Riku pulled the door instead of slipping out and pushing, two reasons. I'll have to go back and be sure on this one, but I don't think there was enough space for him to get through. Second, and more importantly, sequel.

So I'm living in a sea of chaos (without L-sama), and I'm wondering what to do about catching a muse again.

And someone tell me why my mother unit has a subconscious desire to be in competition about who's emotionally worse than whom?

I'm going to try and remember to set a reminder for myself to hit Notus tomorrow. Have to finish updating FFX tonight, which I've put off for, oh, forever.

And maybe, just maybe, I can get back to one of my KH fics, though I know Dante and Vergil from DMC were pestering me for a fic before my space got swamped.

Tomorrow I get money, so tomorrow I go do a little Xmas shopping. I wish I had someone to go with beside the usual person. I'm in need of a severe change of acquaintances.

Can you tell I'm mindlessly rambling? Good.

And on a slightly bright note, I go talk to my therapist tomorrow, who I do so adore, even if she does call me a brat.

Daily Genism: There are those who say I must write certain pieces, be it poetry, prose, fiction, or non fiction, in a particular style, format, outline, etc. They tell me that unless I write a thing in a specified manner, then whatever I'm writing is not what I'm writing at all. These are the people who would stuff my imagination in a bottle, label it, and set it on the shelf for about /$2.25.

I say, I at least want a coupon, damnit.
