(8:10 am PT) - I jump on the bandwagon
[link] - (curious)

I admit, I'm a sucker for those collectible graphics like growing eggs, plants, adoptables, et cetera. Normally I keep them in a private post on ij, but this one needs help, so I'll post these publicly.

Actually it has a nice feature that simply links to my account to any/all eggs I've collected, so I'll use that and make notes if I add to that. For now, dragon eggs (help them grow): http://dragcave.ath.cx/user/62673

(10:07 am PT) - Quietly abstract
[link] - (curious)

If you like abstract animations that don't necessarily have a point beyond being unusual, this might interest you. It's a music video for a Danish group named Under Byen. Created by the makers of the equally abstract PnC Samorost games. Now if the music doesn't appeal to you, (and I can understand if it doesn't), I say mute the comp and either watch in silence, or throw your favourite ambient music into your player and listen to that instead. Slower connections, it's somewhere between 4-5 mb.

(11:04 pm PT) - LJ is keeping my friends from me...
[link] - (curious)

I just realised that Lj has been hiding Raine from me. Now I'm wondering if they're hiding other people from me as well.

Don't do that, LJ. I need all the friendly net voices I can get, thank you.

Randomly, I'm getting an unhealthy fixation with buttons. The little graphic buttons, 80x15 that originally went to signify rss feeds, but now everyone uses them. Yeah, those. Also, upon making a site for a potential zine, I have subconsciously reaffirmed my love of all things blue.

I wasn't thinking about a blue scheme, I just wanted to use Moonchan's picture.

Moonchan, I will be getting that long delayed as hell M.O. to you soon. Money just went nuts for awhile, and I couldn't seem to hang onto even that much. Grr.

Mirchan, your work dost sucketh your soul from you, I'm sure.

Irony, Raine, because just before your comment, I was looking at this The other one I'm considering would be this. Though I'm leaning towards the Seagate.

... crud, I have a fic due, and no inspiration. Think I'll pop in my two fave Slayers ep. Which reminds me. I missed flashback week, which I believe Miracle and I try to aim for in January. Well, anyone up for one in April?

::looks at post:: I think this was one of those rare social posts of mine...

(1:28 pm PT) - Free pancakes?
[link] - (curious)

Strange but true, IHOP's giving away free pancakes come Tuesday.

Weird, but hey, I'm game.

(11:58 am PT) - Dionaea hits bigscreen
[link] - (curious)

Any of you remember The Dionaea House? Well seems the script has been picked up and will eventually make it to the big screen. According to the writer, Eric Heisserer, Warner Bros. has actually nabbed it, and it won't be a traditional slasher film. It will probably be a few years in the making, since it sounds like the deal was just finalised, but I'm already looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

For the curious, Mr. Heisserer has a ml that he keeps interested parties up to date on. You can find it at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dionaea/.

(7:12 am PT) - fudgenuts
[link] - (curious)

Okay, if you did the wishlist meme, could you do me a favour and leave the url in the comment for me? I'd meant to make all the LJ wishlists memories, but RL had other ideas. And not everyone posts to LJ anyway. ElsewhereCW I have yours, at least.

I'm not going to comment on the drama making its rounds on LJ right now. I can't, for the simple fact that after the last 12 years of my life, I'm grown used to such things. That's all I can say, really.

(12:25 pm PT) - Okay, I need to know
[link] - (curious)

I'm hoping those who bother reading this will answer, otherwise I'll have to forget about posting questions, because I just don't know how to get a response one way or another.

To those reading, tell me, when I ask a question, do you need me to tag it in any sort of fashion so you'll know that I want a response? I'm not talking about questions that require fact and/or data and information. I understand that if you don't know, you don't answer. But questions that warrant an opinion are totally different. And no, you are not allowed to fall back on the "I have no opinion" excuse. If you take a moment to mull it over, you'll find you do have one, no matter how insignificant you think it is.

That being said, I truly want to know: do I need to tag those kinds of questions in a way where you'll understand that I do want your thoughts on the matter? And if so, what/how would you recommend I "tag" them?

If you're wondering where this is coming from, it's happened to me on several occasions, the last of which being the Thursday prior to this post. And I quote, "....I've been trying to accumulate any number of various tips, though for the time being they're all web or computer oriented. Should I make it a weekly thing, or just stick to randomness and post soon as I find something of interest?"

I know there are some saying/thinking, "It's up to you." But bear in mind that while I'm aware of this, I ask these questions because I'm having trouble making a decision. So feedback is requested in order to help in the process thereof.

So you see, if I don't get any feedback on whether I need to tag these sorts of questions, I'm at a lost for what to do to get my message across that I would like the input.

(Of course, this question is mainly (only?) direct towards people whose opinion matter to me. This is usually those whose blogs I read and/or link to, or those I've emailed or chatted with in some form or fashion. And by that definition, it excludes people like ker en kelly, despite the absolute loveliness of those decorative dots.)

(6:16 pm PT) - Because this information could save your life one day...
[link] - (curious)

And now for something completely different.

How to use a Japanese toilet.

Click on the appropriate picture after going. I'm sure the Japanese one will be easy to spot.

Man, they must have some good knees over there.

(11:40 pm PT) - confusion 301
[link] - (curious)

Does anyone know what the official hair color for Shuichi Shindo is listesd as? (Don't say pink unless you have proof.) I can't go by the anime or manga, as from what I can tell, Ryuichi's color is listead as brown, though I've seen it anywhere from pink to moss green. I'm tempted to say Shuichi's a redhead, as it's the only naturally occuring color I can come up with. Either that, or I'll fall back on the dye theory.

(11:56 am PT) - More on ff7 and kh2, et cetera...
[link] - (curious)

It's a foreign site, but you should be able to find the video links, or else just run it through the babelfish online translator

Squarenet News

The link to the ff7 vid is pretty big, the KH ones are short, though. I don't know if direct links will work, but you can try.

FFVII Advent Children 11 mb avi

KH2 video

KH: Chain of Memories GBA

Mind you, all of these are just from someone with a vidcam taping from an audience pov. The FF7 one is at an angle, to boot. But knowing how anxious a lot of us are, I figure we'd still want to see.

KH2 screen shot (the shoes are closer to normal on Sora this time around, don't you think?)

(9:28 pm PT) - Hmm.
[link] - (curious)

I feel so drained and out of it it's not funny.

Tonight's episode of Reign the Conqueror leaves me with an interesting question. So I'll ask all of you who visit here.

You find yourself flung to the future a century from now, and you come across your own gravesite. Feelings? What kind of grave do you imagine it would be? Something small and nondescript? A shrine? Something no human has tread near for decades?

Thoughts...

(7:18 pm PT) - Uncanny
[link] - (curious)

The tarot and tarot cards are a strange and remarkable tool. But they are just that, a tool. A focus of the innate and unique energy signiture that resides in all of us. It (the cards) isn't meant to manipulate this energy, but merely to help one define it. Even that isn't a truly accurate description. If one makes query, what many don't realize is the answer is right there, but through whatever reasons and variables, it's not that easy to see. The cards can aid in that to a certain extent. There are, of course, different aspects to be considered: the nature of the querent, the reader, general atmosphere, et cetera...

An example of this would be in the one brief time my sister was interested in reading tarot cards. First, let it be said that she only likes anything related to what she perceives as occult for the glamour of the mystical and mysterious qualities she thinks such things hold. Her interest isn't a true one, nor is it ever a lasting one. Second, she is at her center most core, a negative person. So the one time mom allowed her to do a reading, everything was supposedly negative, dark, trouble--you get the idea.

Personally, I've always been interested in the seemingly inexplicable spiritual energy emitted by humans. (Vibes, I sometimes call them.) Some people can pick up on these vibes quite easily, while others tend to give off vibes without being aware of it. I believe it's these vibes that also influence the use of tarot cards.

I just acquired a new deck today. I'm not an expert, I can't say I read, but I would love to learn and expand on that. Mom is also interested in such things, moreso in trying to understand and figure out just how it works. We did an experimental reading tonight, in which she asked would she be happy with her bf. There was some good points (the excitement of love), some bad (discouraging influences). In the end, it seemed the cards said something I'd been saying for awhile.

"Do what makes you happy. Listen to your own heart and forget everybody else."

Now whether the cards reflected my own thoughts on the matter or the true answer that's been in front of her since the beginning is hard to say, but it doesn't make the anwer itself any less valid in this case.

This isn't some great mystery or hocus-pocus. And I certainly don't see how people could charge for such a thing. As I said before, it is merely a tool to better help one in seeing what's probably been there all along.

Anyone who thinks it's some outside spiritual influence, well, your opinion is your right. I don't think this is the case.

Now a ouiji board... I'll get back to you on outside influences with that. Sorry, I have my limits of things I'll try...

(12:37 pm PT) - Okay, question
[link] - (curious)

To wll those who read this and write, here's a question. It doesn't matter what you write, original, fiction, RPs, poetry... if you write, then you're qualified to answer.

Why do you write?

For me, writing in general, I'm trying to convey an image. I'm using the words to help paint a picture in someone's mind, hopefully similar to the one in my own that inspired to to try and capture it in prose. But if not, then if I can create any sort of imagery, good or bad, I've accomplished at least part of my goal.

As to writing fanfiction, I want to see the characters in situations that would never come about in the original media.

So again, why do you write?

Does anyone know of, or where I can find, the complete list of Snapple Element drinks? (Not the regular Snapple in the short bottles, just the Elements.)
